The short story, "Emma," which is chapter 54 of Tightrope!, won first prize in the Joyous Publishing Contest for June 2006.

Another piece, part of chapter eleven of Cross and Carnival, won runner up in the same contest.

Both these pieces, together with the prologue to Cross and Carnival, will be published in September 2006 in the anthology Prize Winning Stories.

Besides the revision of Cross and Carnival, Sonja has been working on some historical articles. One of them, about Eleanor of Aquitaine, is out there, looking for a home. The other one, about brave Bessie Coleman, is still in the works.

She is also working on two writing-related articles, and hopes to have them done within the month of April.

Sonja also has several autobiographical pieces out.

Another one of the chapters of Cross and Carnival, won Finalist in the M Review Literary Writing Contest.

Last week we made an effort to join this website to a special webring, focused on the Holocaust. The acceptance is still pending, but it is expected any time.

We also will put up some of the more relevant links that will take you, the interested reader, to sites focusing on the Holocaust.
